Cinderace · Sword & Shield, what to know.
About the Cinderace card
Numbered 34 of 216 in Sword & Shield, released in February 2020, Cinderace is a Rare Holo, a Stage 2 Fire-type carrying 170 HP.
It evolves from Raboot, so Cinderace is a later-stage card that set-builders usually slot into a full evolution run rather than buy alone.
Illustrated by Kouki Saitou.
Printed on the card, the Cinderace Pokédex entry reads: "It's skilled at both offense and defense, and it gets pumped up when cheered on. But if it starts showboating, it could put itself in a tough spot."
What is Cinderace worth?
Cinderace is a holo rare, one of the cards that holds Sword & Shield's value. The rarity tier decides most of it, since the same card prints at several tiers with very different prices. In top-grade 1st Edition, Sword & Shield holos range from the mid hundreds for the lesser cards up to the set's marquee chase; raw and Unlimited copies trade for a fraction of that. The live market price above shows the current figure by grade.
Print variants and how to spot them
Confirm the print and finish on Cinderace before pricing it, since variant and rarity set the market more than the card name alone.
Grading and condition
Expect the holo window to set the grade on Cinderace. Print misregistration and fine scratches in the fire foil are the usual reasons a copy lands at a 9, and edge whitening against the frame is the next thing a grader notes.
If you are collecting Cinderace
For Cinderace, variant comes before condition. Confirm the exact rarity tier on the Cinderace, since the spread between tiers is wide. Demand a clear photo of the Cinderace holo for any raw purchase.
