Dewgong · Phantasmal Flames, what to know.
About the Dewgong card
Dewgong is card 22 of 130 in Phantasmal Flames, released in January 2026, a Common. It is a Stage 1 Water-type with 130 HP.
As a Stage 1, it evolves from Seel, which places Dewgong deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.
Illustrated by Taira Akitsu.
The card's flavor text gives Dewgong a line of lore: "It sleeps under shallow ocean waters during the day, then looks for food at night when it's colder."
About Dewgong in the Pokémon world
The fully evolved Seel. Larger, more elegant silhouette. Base Set Uncommon. Steady raw demand.
What is Dewgong worth?
Dewgong is a Common, so raw copies trade for very little and most of the print run survives. The only real value is in pristine, high-grade copies, where even a Common can reach low triple digits in 1st Edition PSA 10. See the live price above for the current figure by grade.
Print variants and how to spot them
Confirm the print and finish on Dewgong before pricing it, since variant and rarity set the market more than the card name alone.
Grading and condition
Dewgong is the most forgiving tier to grade in the set. Centering on the framed border is the usual cap, and the soft cardstock picks up edge whitening easily, but high print runs keep clean copies affordable.
If you are collecting Dewgong
Raw copies of Dewgong are inexpensive enough that grading rarely pays unless you have a clearly pack-fresh example. For set completion, a clean sleeved Dewgong is the practical move.
