Drapion · Sword & Shield, what to know.
About the Drapion card
Drapion is card 122 of 216 in Sword & Shield, released in February 2020, a Rare. It is a Stage 1 Darkness-type with 140 HP.
As a Stage 1, it evolves from Skorupi, which places Drapion deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.
Illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda.
The Pokédex entry printed on Drapion reads: "It's so vicious that it's called the Sand Demon. Yet when confronted by Hippowdon, Drapion keeps a low profile and will never pick a fight."
What is Drapion worth?
Drapion is a non-holo Rare. In Sword & Shield, value concentrates in the holo rares, so a Drapion trades modestly, though a clean, well-centered 1st Edition copy in PSA 10 is scarcer than the print run suggests and carries a real premium. Check the live price above for the figure by grade.
Print variants and how to spot them
Confirm the print and finish on Drapion before pricing it, since variant and rarity set the market more than the card name alone.
Grading and condition
Drapion grades on centering and edges more than surface. The card was played and traded more freely than the holos, so a clean, well-centered Drapion is worth more than collectors assume.
If you are collecting Drapion
For Drapion, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Submission math on Drapion rarely works unless the card has independent demand.
