Magnemite · Neo Discovery, what to know.
About the Magnemite card
Numbered 26 of 75 in Neo Discovery, released in June 2001, Magnemite is a Rare, a Basic Metal-type carrying 40 HP.
As a Basic Pokémon, Magnemite needs no prior evolution to put into play, which made it a practical card in the era's decks.
Illustrated by K. Hoshiba, CR CG gangs.
Magnemite carries this Pokédex flavor text: "These Pokémon are attracted to electrical emissions and will often follow people using PokéGear."
About Magnemite in the Pokémon world
A floating electric-steel screw with two magnets attached. Base Set Common with cult collector interest.
What is Magnemite worth?
Magnemite is a non-holo Rare. In Neo Discovery, value concentrates in the holo rares, so a Magnemite trades modestly, though a clean, well-centered 1st Edition copy in PSA 10 is scarcer than the print run suggests and carries a real premium. Check the live price above for the figure by grade.
Print variants and how to spot them
Neo Discovery produced 1st Edition, Unlimited prints. For Magnemite, the print variant can change the price several times over, so identify it before you buy.
Grading and condition
On Magnemite, look at the corners and the framed border first. Non-holo Rares took more handling than the chase holos, so a sharp, centered copy of Magnemite in a true PSA 10 is harder to find than the print run suggests.
If you are collecting Magnemite
For Magnemite, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Non-holo Rares from this era are cheap enough that a PSA 10 submission on a clean Magnemite can make sense.
