Dustox · Lost Origin, what to know.
About the Dustox card
Dustox is card 10 of 217 in Lost Origin, released in September 2022, a Rare. It is a Stage 2 Grass-type with 140 HP.
As a Stage 2, it evolves from Cascoon, which places Dustox deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.
Illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita. Arita painted the Base Set Charizard and much of the early holo run, and his work has a painterly weight that set the visual tone of the Wizards era.
The card's flavor text gives Dustox a line of lore: "Tends to be drawn to bonfires on dark nights. Difficult to chase away from settlements because of the way it scatters highly toxic scales."
What is Dustox worth?
Dustox is a non-holo Rare. In Lost Origin, value concentrates in the holo rares, so a Dustox trades modestly, though a clean, well-centered 1st Edition copy in PSA 10 is scarcer than the print run suggests and carries a real premium. Check the live price above for the figure by grade.
Print variants and how to spot them
Confirm the print and finish on Dustox before pricing it, since variant and rarity set the market more than the card name alone.
Grading and condition
Non-holo Rares like Dustox are easier on surface but no kinder on centering. These cards were less protected than the holos, so high-grade Dustox survivors can be scarcer than expected, with edge whitening the usual cap.
If you are collecting Dustox
For Dustox, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Submission math on Dustox rarely works unless the card has independent demand.
