About the Kabutops card
Kabutops is card 24 of 62 in Fossil, released in October 1999, a Rare. It is a Stage 2 Fighting-type with 60 HP.
As a Stage 2, it evolves from Kabuto, which places Kabutops deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.
Illustrated by Ken Sugimori. Sugimori is the lead character designer of Pokémon itself, so his card art carries the tight, on-model look that defined how the creatures appear in the games.
The Pokédex entry printed on Kabutops reads: "Its sleek shape is perfect for swimming. It slashes prey with its claws and drains the body fluids. "

Print variants and how to spot them
Fossil shipped in 1st Edition and Unlimited, with no Shadowless print. The Edition 1 stamp under the artwork separates the scarcer 1st Edition Kabutops from the Unlimited copy.
Grading and condition
On Kabutops, look at the corners and the framed border first. Non-holo Rares took more handling than the chase holos, so a sharp, centered copy of Kabutops in a true PSA 10 is harder to find than the print run suggests.

For Kabutops, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Non-holo Rares from this era are cheap enough that a PSA 10 submission on a clean Kabutops can make sense.
