Pinsir · Evolving Skies, what to know.
About the Pinsir card
Numbered 1 of 237 in Evolving Skies, released in August 2021, Pinsir is a Rare, a Basic Grass-type carrying 120 HP.
As a Basic Pokémon, Pinsir needs no prior evolution to put into play, which made it a practical card in the era's decks.
Illustrated by Shin Nagasawa.
Printed on the card, the Pinsir Pokédex entry reads: "Although it's tough, it can't handle cold well. When night falls, it buries itself in leafage and sleeps."
About Pinsir in the Pokémon world
A Bug-type stag beetle with prominent pincers. Jungle holo Pinsir is one of the more aggressive-looking Jungle holos and has steady collector demand.
What is Pinsir worth?
Pinsir is a non-holo Rare. In Evolving Skies, value concentrates in the holo rares, so a Pinsir trades modestly, though a clean, well-centered 1st Edition copy in PSA 10 is scarcer than the print run suggests and carries a real premium. Check the live price above for the figure by grade.
Print variants and how to spot them
Confirm the print and finish on Pinsir before pricing it, since variant and rarity set the market more than the card name alone.
Grading and condition
Non-holo Rares like Pinsir are easier on surface but no kinder on centering. These cards were less protected than the holos, so high-grade Pinsir survivors can be scarcer than expected, with edge whitening the usual cap.
If you are collecting Pinsir
For Pinsir, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Submission math on Pinsir rarely works unless the card has independent demand.
