Scyther is card 10 of 64 in Jungle, illustrated by Ken Sugimori. The card was unusually competitive at release. A 70 HP basic with a low-cost Slash attack. Which means a high share of the print run saw real play and few survived in pack-fresh condition.
Jungle Scyther exists in 1st Edition, Unlimited, and the well-known No Symbol error variant. PSA 10 1st Edition Scyther is one of the harder vintage 10s to acquire because of how aggressively it was played. The No Symbol variant in PSA 10 commands a stiff premium.
The artwork has aged well, and Scyther holos have appreciated meaningfully over the last three years. The card is also a frequent target of fakes. Particularly Unlimited No Symbol counterfeits. So verify the holo pattern and set symbol position carefully on any unsleeved listing photo.
