Jolteon

Numbered 20 of 64 in Jungle, released in June 1999, Jolteon is a Rare, a Stage 1 Lightning-type carrying 70 HP.

It evolves from Eevee, so Jolteon is a later-stage card that set-builders usually slot into a full evolution run rather than buy alone.

Illustrated by Kagemaru Himeno. Himeno is one of the most-recognized vintage illustrators, with a softer, more textured style that shows up across the Jungle and Neo runs.

Jolteon carries this Pokédex flavor text: "It accumulates negative ions from the atmosphere to blast out 10,000-volt lightning bolts."

Based on recent eBay sales, raw copies trade from $14 to $38 depending on the print and a PSA 10 runs from $219 to $456. The 1st Edition print is the most valuable, with a PSA 10 near $456. The table on this page breaks the price down by print and grade, updated 2026-06-02.

Jungle shipped in 1st Edition and Unlimited, with no Shadowless print. The Edition 1 stamp under the artwork separates the scarcer 1st Edition Jolteon from the Unlimited copy. The set also has the famous No Symbol error from its first print run, which adds a premium when the lower-right set symbol is missing.

Non-holo Rares like Jolteon are easier on surface but no kinder on centering. Wizards-era cards were less protected than the holos, so high-grade Jolteon survivors can be scarcer than expected, with edge whitening the usual cap.

For Jolteon, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Non-holo Rares from this era are cheap enough that a PSA 10 submission on a clean Jolteon can make sense.
