Jolteon

Numbered 4 of 64 in Jungle, released in June 1999, Jolteon is a Rare Holo, a Stage 1 Lightning-type carrying 70 HP.

It evolves from Eevee, so Jolteon is a later-stage card that set-builders usually slot into a full evolution run rather than buy alone.

Illustrated by Kagemaru Himeno. Himeno is one of the most-recognized vintage illustrators, with a softer, more textured style that shows up across the Jungle and Neo runs.

Jolteon carries this Pokédex flavor text: "It accumulates negative ions from the atmosphere to blast out 10,000-volt lightning bolts."

Jungle shipped in 1st Edition and Unlimited, with no Shadowless print. The Edition 1 stamp under the artwork separates the scarcer 1st Edition Jolteon from the Unlimited copy. The set also has the famous No Symbol error from its first print run, which adds a premium when the lower-right set symbol is missing.

On a holo like Jolteon, surface is the grade cap. The lightning foil shows hairlines under raking light, and the print reveals scratches that flat scans miss. Centering on the left and right borders is the second thing to check.
